BAR MANAGER

We are hiring a full-time Bar Manager to join The Circular in Dublin 8.

Established in 2019, The Circular is home to a busy bar, café and pizza operation, a multi-use event space, and a sunny front terrace that’s packed on warm days. A well-loved neighbourhood venue, it has a wide reach through its weekly sold-out pub quiz, Night & Day markets, and a range of music and film events. We are looking for someone who is comfortable managing a dynamic environment and enjoys being part of a strong, collaborative team.

The venue is well established but continues to evolve. We are actively building on what we do well and exploring new ideas and always improving. This role offers the opportunity to be involved in shaping how the venue develops, not just maintaining it.

For an experienced manager, this is a steady, well-run venue with a great local audience and no late licence. It can suit someone looking for a more balanced role than a late-night operation, or someone experienced who has ideas and wants a new challenge in a venue with real variety.

We are looking for a manager with good judgement and perspective, who understands people and delivers consistent, thoughtful hospitality across both intimate service and busy events.


About you

  • 1–3 years’ experience at manager level in a busy Irish bar

  • Positive, hands-on, and comfortable leading from the floor

  • Strong belief in good hospitality and customer experience

  • Organised, consistent, and accountable

Key responsibilities

  • Rostering and labour cost control

  • Ordering, stock and cost management

  • Maintaining service standards

  • Managing bookings and supporting events

  • Salary from €39,000, negotiable for the right person with the right experience

BAR PERSON

We’re looking for bartenders to join the team at The Circular.


Great bar staff really care about looking after people - customers and team mates alike. They’re dialled into the details—lighting, sound, cleanliness, and the overall vibe.


Ideal candidates would also have a year’s experience working in a busy bar or restaurant, be able to get pints in and cocktails out quick on busy nights, in a calm and efficient way.

ABOUT THE BAR

Why we opened THE CIRCULAR and why you might like to work here.

The Circular & The Other Hand Bar opened in December 2019, immediately and thankfully picking up a great gang of locals and regulars, in for their Daddy’s breakfast, Coke Lane Pizza, and pints with pals…frequently all three on the same day.

We had twelve glorious weeks before the pandemic brought the curtain down in March 2020. We kept busy and had great local support through the various lockdowns. We set up The Decent Drinks Club, Coke Lane Pizza and Daddy’s kept the neighbourhood well fed and caffeinated.

The Circular is a solid local bar at its core but with a few different things going on under one roof. A big and bright main bar, a dark and cosy sidebar, multiple seating spaces, outdoor areas, an award-winning cafe and pizza operation. We programme local events, quizzes, DJs and regular screenings.

We want to be an all-day neighbourhood joint, where you feel just as comfortable having coffee and eggs at 9am, and a rake of pints with pals at 9pm. Simple!
